The X-Files: Albuquerque - an animated comedy spin-off of The X-Files is in development at Fox. Sources claim that series creator Chris Carter attached to exec-produce.

The project which is been described as a "toon offshoot" and will follow the adventures of an office full of misfit agents who investigate X-Files cases" "too wacky, ridiculous or downright dopey for Mulder and Scully to bother with", has received a script and presentation commitment from Fox.

The pilot will be written and executive produced by Rocky Russo and Jeremy Sosenko. X-Files writer Gabe Rotter will also serve as an executive producer next to Carter. Bento Box serves as the animation studio.
